Owlthorpe Fields Conservation Group

Site Work

Work began on site at the orchard in January 2025.  Progress will be dependent on weather and seasons, i.e. bird breeding season, planting season etc but over the coming months you will see more and more work being carried out.

Below are some photos of the early work - clearance of the brambles in the orchard in preparation for removing top soil for wild flower planting.  Hedge laying is also underway, and you may see Sheffield Countryside Conservation Trust and volunteers up there busy working while you’re out and about.

Say hello to them when you’re passing, they’re always happy for a chat and update you on what they are doing.

Volunteers are always welcome.  If you’d like to volunteer, please use the contact page.
